Michael Franti

Friday 4 November 2016 / 22:30 - 23:45 @ The Raven

Listening to Michael Franti’s music, summer magically appears. His latest album, Soulrocker, mixes breezy pop songs with roots reggae, dancehall and electronic club hits, mostly singing about love and peace. Happy-go-lucky? No way: in his snappy lyrics, Franti often uncovers important social issues. An example is Same As It Ever Was: ‘If the world’s full of anger and everybody’s got a gun, then what should I say y’all to my teenage son?’
