On November 1-4, 2023, more than 80 authors and musicians from all over the world will come to The Hague for the 31th edition of Crossing Border. The festival takes place in various locations in and around the centre of The Hague.

TICKETS AND WRISTBAND EXCHANGE

Wristband exchange To gain entrance to the festival evenings on 3 and 4 November you need a festival wristband. Visitors with a ticket for the Friday evening, Saturday evening or passe-partout can exchange their ticket for a wristband at the ticket office at Lange Voorhout.

For the special events Fifth Wave, You’ll have to scream louder, the day programmes on Saturday 4 November and the Kids’ programme, wristbands aren’t required. Ticket holders can go straight to the event location.

Ticketsale on festival days
If the event hasn’t sold out, tickets will be available for purchase on the Friday evening. On festival days you can still purchase your tickets online.

Fifth Wave: an evening of independent Russian literature

Thursday 2 November

You’ll have to scream LOUDER

Programme with Dutch speaking talent: poetry, spoken word and music.

Location: Theater De Regentes, openingsevent in Nest

19.00 - 22.30 Theater De Regentes (doors open 18.30)

Friday 3 November

An ongoing music and literature programme on multiple stages.

Location: Korzo Theater and Festivaltent The Hideout

Time: 18.00 - 00.00 (doors open 17.45)

Saturday 4 November

A day programme with separate events in various locations with international and Dutch authors.

Locations: Theater aan het Spui, Zaal 3, Het Mauritshuis, BorderKitchen, Royal Academy of Art (KABK), Royal Theater and more.

Time: 11.00 - 17.30

Saturday 4 November

A selection of surprising and moving stories of international authors and illustrators of children’s literature intended for pre-readers (0-4), early readers (4-8) and middle-grade (8-12).
The programme consists of separate one-hour events for different age groups. With a separate ticket for each event.

Location: Zaal 3, Nest, and theater De Vaillant

Time: 10.00 - 17.00

Saturday 4 November

An ongoing music and literature programme on multiple stages.

Location: Korzo Theater and Festivaltent The Hideout

Time: 19.00 - 00.00 (doors open 18.30)

Other World Bookshop

In the OTHER WORLD BOOKSHOP, the festival hangout spot, you can browse books by festival authors, special publications, and get your book signed. It is the revival of Other World Books, the original bookstore in Amsterdam of festival founder Louis Behre, where in 1991 the seed for the first Crossing Border festival was planted.

  • November 2, You'll have to scream LOUDER (12,50€).
  • November 3 and 4, festival evening programme (30€ per evening) and a passe-partout for both evenings (50€).
  • November 4, day programme with separate tickets for every programme.
  • November 4, Kids' day programme with separate tickets for every programme.
  • There is a 50% CJP discount available for tickets of the festival evenings on the 3rd and 4th of November and the passepartout ticket.
    Access only with presentation of CJP pass and identification.
  • There is an Ooievaarspas discount available for tickets of the festival evenings on the 3rd and 4th of November and the passepartout ticket. Ooievaarspas and ID will be checked at the entrance.
