30 October - You’ll have to scream LOUDER, a multidisciplinary evening showcasing young Dutch talent from the contemporary literary and performing arts scene, featuring events about literature, spoken word, music, live podcasts and more.

Bookshop and book signings

Crossing Border has its very own bookshop: the Other World Bookshop.

There are books available for every event of the day and evening programme.  The authors will sign copies of their books immediately after their event. 

What is the main language of the events?

All interviews at Crossing Border will be held in English. If an international author does not speak sufficient English, an interpreter will be present at the event. Performances by Dutch authors will be held in Dutch.

A separate ticket is available for each event.
The theater lobby is freely accessible, ticket control takes place at the doors of the rooms.

Ticket price kids: €6
Ticket price adults: €9
Discount tickets are available for Ooievaarspas holders.
Please note that for the 0-4 year programs, adult admission is free.

European Literature Prize award ceremony (2 Nov)
Entry to the European Literature Prize award ceremony is free. You need to get a (free) ticket from the Crossing Border ticketshop to get admission to the event.


Ticket Sales for Ooievaarpas

Ooievaar pass holders receive a discount on regular tickets.
This applies to the festival evenings on November 1 and 2 at the Koninklijke Schouwburg, as well as the children's program on November 2 at Theater Vaillant. Below are the details about ticket sales:

tickets for children €2, tickets for parents/guardians €3

Please note: Tickets for the Ooievaar pass can only be purchased at the door. You can reserve these tickets for free through the ticket shop.

For each event, only one ticket can be purchased per Ooievaar pass holder.

Education

Programme for secondary school pupils

Secondary school pupils will have the opportunity to engage in conversation with international and Dutch authors.

Student meets Author

arrow


Crossing Border collaborates with student advisors to facilitate conversations between groups of (art) students and international authors during the festival. These conversations, including the preparation and follow-up, are part of their curriculum.

In past years we have invited students from several renowned universities including the UvA, VU, UU and LU.

Our theatres are all easily accessible by bicycle, public transport and car.

For people with a disability card and for electrical vehicles parking is possible right in front of the Koninklijke Schouwburg. There are 5 disabled parkings spaces and two parking spaces with charging points at Schouwburgstraat 8.

The closest car parks are Interparking Museumkwartier and Q-Park Malieveld.
