Buenos Aires-born Ariana Harwicz (b. 1977) has been compared to none other than Virginia Woolf and Sylvia Plath. In her prose, you will find violence, eroticism, irony and criticism of relationships that we quietly consider the norm.
Harwicz studied screenwriting and drama in Argentina, performing arts at the University of Paris and comparative literature at the Sorbonne. Her first novel Die, My Love was named the best novel of 2012 by the Argentine daily La Nación. The book is being filmed by Martin Scorsese, starring Jennifer Lawrence. With her latest book, The Sound of an Age, Harwicz takes her first steps into non-fiction, in her signature ruthless style.
