Safae el Khannoussi's (b. 1994) work focuses on the paradoxical existence of the migrant. She is currently pursuing a PhD in political philosophy on abolishing prisons. She previously published stories in De Gids.
This summer sees the publication of her debut novel Oroppa, about a group of outcasts who become involved in the mystery of Salomé Abergel, the famous artist who suddenly disappears at the height of her career. All wander around and cross each other's paths because of the mystery that connects them: who is Salomé Abergel really, and where did she go? A whirlwind tale set in Amsterdam, Tunis and Paris, among other places.
