Moor Mother, also known as Camae Ayewa, is an international jack-of-all-trades: she travels the world as a musician, composer, poet, visual artist and curator. Her work has been exhibited at the Guggenheim Museum and the Brooklyn Museum of Art in New York.
Moor Mothers' lyrics are an ode to past, present and future. She herself sees her work as a form of Afrofuturism: a form of empowerment of marginalized black and indigenous people, who can hopefully draw strength from her work. During Crossing Border, Moor Mother will recite lyrics from her latest album, The Great Bailout.
